No two eyes are exactly alike. That's why Alcon Surgical developed -an advanced Excimer laser system designed to give each patient the best possible result. is distinctively different from all other Excimer laser systems. It combines the only patented laser radar eye tracker, the LADARTracker™, with unique small spot laser beam. These features were designed to increase the accuracy of corneal shaping.
Our eyes are constantly making small, rapid movements that are beyond our control. Computer simulators have shown that eye movement during LASIK can compromise laser beam placement accuracy. this can cause irregularities in the corneal surface., introducing new refractive errors and resulting in sub-optimal visual acuity.
The LADARTracker™ accurately tracks eye movements during surgery so you do not have to worry about holding your eye still. The tracker adjusts and realigns itself between each laser pulse., tracking the position of your eye 4,000 times per second, guiding placement of the laser beam with pinpoint accuracy.
Guided by the active eye tracker, the small spot laser beam (less than 1 mm wide) reshapes the cornea, removing corneal tissue smaller than the width of a single human hair. This combination offers our patients state-of-the-art Excimer laser technology.
